About Laura-Catherine Etheridge
I like order, clarity, and clearly defined next steps, especially when the stakes are high, and I desperately need to learn something new.
Due to experiencing a traumatic event when I was 4, I was left with high anxiety, decades of gruesome nightmares, and hundreds of swirling questions. I wanted the “abundant life” Jesus offered in John 10:10, but where were the practical, well-defined next steps that would help me get there?
Though I can thankfully report that I now have and enjoy that abundant life, my very long and meandering journey to get here has only further kindled my zeal for clearly defined next steps and practical wisdom.
Additionally, as a coach nearing 10,000 hours of client experience, the question I hear people ask the most is, “How?” That question has appeared in every training I have facilitated and in all the Bible studies and small groups I have led, only increasing my passion for this need and subject.
A few years ago, I sensed God nudging me to provide clear training and compile practical resources to aid others who are on their own journey with Jesus toward the abundant life He talks about in John 10:10.
I pray that the training and resources you find here will ease your burden of how and equip you with well-defined, clear next steps as you journey with Jesus into His promise of abundant life for you.
“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'” Matthew 28:18 -20 (ESV)
I’m Laura-Catherine Etheridge, a disciple of Jesus, a podcast host, and a leadership coach and consultant.

About Choosing Known
Long before it had a name, Choosing Known began as a compilation of lessons I learned along my journey from brokenness to abundant life. Lesson #1: If Jesus was going to make that incredible offer, I was going to learn how to take Him up on it. I asked Him, well, it was more like begged Him to teach me how, and He did.
Over the course of many years, He used various people, tools, and materials to teach me how to go from my lack to His abundant life. Choosing Known now exists to share those lessons and supply you with practical resources, so you will be well-equipped if you decide to take Jesus up on this promise He has also extended to you.
